The Keiskamma Trust has realised that the young people of Hamburg and neighbouring villages have little opportunity for further study. Many have matriculated successfully only to be frustrated in their inability to find work. For this reason, a fund has been established, currently sending six students to tertiary institutions to continue their studies in Fine arts, Journalism and a new addition, Msindisi Mva studying Fashion Design.
Their work continues to be of a very high standard. Congragulations to Nomfusi Nkani and Kwanele Ganto for receiving top student awards in 2003 and Nokupiwe Gedze and Cebo Mvubu for receiving top student awards in 2004. We all wish you the best of luck for finishing this Year!
Special thanks to the donors: Wolfgang Geith and Susanne Fondres, Claire Kantor Memorial Fund, Jan Chalmers and Jacky Jezewski for financially supporting our students through there studies.
Over their holidays, the students return to the villages and enrich the Keiskamma Art Project by showing the rest of the members what they have learned.
